Well done Johannesburg East Cluster police

Johannesburg East Cluster arrested 129 suspects from 8 to 14 April.

The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from murder, rape and possession of unlicensed firearms. The cluster comprises Cleveland, Jeppe, Hillbrow, Rosebank, Parkview, Norwood and Yeoville police stations.

The suspects were arrested for the following:

• 20 for assault with intent to cause grievous harm
• 18 for common assault
• 9 arrested for theft
• 3 for malicious damage to property
• 10 for possession of unlicensed firearms
• 12 for possession of stolen goods
• 4 for dealing in liquor
• 13 for possession of drugs
• 2 for rape
• 1 for murder
• 3 for shoplifting
• 1 for armed robbery
• 1 for pointing of a firearm
• 14 for fraud
• 4 for possession of dagga
• 1 for possession of nyaope
• 5 for common robbery
• 3 for business robbery
• 1 for possession of dangerous weapon
• 3 for possession of hijacked motor vehicle
• 1 for warrant of arrest.

Munyai said some of the suspects have already appeared in different courts while others are yet to appear.

“Some have paid fines and bail while others are remanded in custody while investigations are still continuing,” he concluded.
