One killed, five injured in N12 east collision

The body of a man was found lying trapped in the wreckage of the light motor vehicle.

A man was killed and five others injured this afternoon after a collision involving a truck and two light motor vehicles on the N12 eastbound before the R24.

ER24 stated when paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the three vehicles in the right-hand lane of the road.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a light motor vehicle lying trapped beneath the overturned truck and container.
“The body of a man was found lying trapped in the wreckage of the light motor vehicle.
“The man was declared dead on the scene.
Five other patients were found inside a second vehicle, situated at the rear of the truck. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the five patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate,” ER24 stated.
The patients were treated for their injuries and were then transported to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
