Jeppe police officers arrested two suspects for dagga possession in two separate cases.
According to the spokesperson for Jeppe Police Station, Captain Richard Munyai, police officials received a tip-off about people selling dagga at Doornfontein on 27 March.
“Police [officials] proceeded to the given address in Buxton Street. They found a man (26) who they asked to search his house. Upon searching the house, they found three black plastic bags with dagga inside and arrested the man. He was taken to Jeppe Police Station where he was detained,” said Munyai.
On the same day, police [officials] on duty received information about a man who was selling dagga on Jules Street in Belgravia. On their arrival, the police officers found a 34-year-old man and asked to search his residence.
“Upon searching the house, officials found 94 packets of dagga hidden inside Pampers packaging. The suspect was arrested and taken to Jeppe Police Station and detained,” said Munyai.
Both suspects will appear in Jeppe Magistrates’ Court soon while police investigations continue.
