The Wallingford Regatta is a rowing regatta which takes place on Dorney Lake in Buckinghamshire, near Eton, next to the River Thames in southern England. It attracts crews from schools, clubs and universities.

The SASRU group consisted of the St Andrew’s School for Girls quad Katherine Bean, Storme Buckle, Jade Teixeira, Jenny Li, Erin Hallaby and coach Lloyd Tinny, as well as a Holy Rosary four, the St John’s pair, the Rondebosch Boys quad, and three development team members.

All finals were cancelled on the day of the event due to extremely bad conditions.

Teams ended up rowing head races, in which St Andrew’s placed seventh overall in the quad, fifth overall in the double, and sixth for the eight.

During the course of the week, the St Andrew’s girls visited Windsor, Leander Club, along with the Henley Rowing Course, the Oxford Boat House, Headington Girls School, the Henley Rowing Museum and Oxford Street in London.

They also trained hard for the next regatta.

The following race day was on May 6 and the girls competed in the Bedford regatta, where they raced an eight. The regatta works on a knockout basis. Two boats compete head to head and the winner of the race goes through to the next round. In the end, the eight won gold.

The school applauds their achievement.
