Wedge Gardens residents out in the sun

Balance in life, especially during early recovery is extremely important, which is why we have this holistic approach in order to address residents’ needs on all levels.”

Fun, sun and braaivleis were the order of the day when Rand Aid’s Wedge Gardens treatment centre held its annual aftercare function.

Therapist Rhulani Khosa, head of the rehabilitation centre’s sports programme, organised a variety of sport events on the day.

The event was held on March 30.

At the centre, Khosa also ensures the residents have many opportunities to spend their leisure time productively.

One of the centre’s aims is to encourage residents to continue with a sport when they leave Wedge Gardens – because it is believed that being active and involved in healthy activities can help prevent a relapse.

“Balance in life, especially during early recovery is extremely important, which is why we have this holistic approach in order to address residents’ needs on all levels,” said head of Wedge Gardens, Adèl Grobbelaar.
