Yeoville police arrested 28 suspects from 27 March to 3 April. The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from murder to assault and robbery.
They were arrested for the following:
- 1 for murder
- 2 for business robbery
- 3 for common robbery
- 3 for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm
- 3 for common assault
- 3 for possession of stolen property
- 2 for driving under the influence of liquor or drugs
- 1 for drinking in public
- 1 for fraud
- 3 for theft
- 1 for contempt of court
- 4 for shoplifting
- 1 for intimidation with malicious damage to property.
“The suspects have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said spokesperson for Yeoville Police Station, Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
