Nomphelo Zozo is a community leader at Jumpers informal settlement. She is also a Ward 118 committee member and a member of the Cleveland Community Police Forum (CPF).
She has been a resident at Jumpers for five years. “The informal settlement has really changed since I moved here. There was a high rate of crime in this area,” she explained.
“The majority of residents were misusing government resources. I could not just sit back. I wanted Jumpers to be a better place for us all.”
Zozo said she listens to the views of the community and holds regular public meetings with all community members. “The community must be active and keep on fighting the good fight. We cannot be seen to be accepting when government resources are being misused.”
