Cops seize ivory, rhino horn, lions’ claws and teeth, and seahorses in Bruma

JOBURG – The seven were arrested in Bruma on suspicion of smuggling ivory, rhino horn, lion's claws and teeth, and seahorses.

Members of the Crime Intelligence Unit, the Department of Environmental Affairs and police arrested seven suspects in Marcia Street in Bruma on 17 February for smuggling ivory, rhino horn, lions’ claws and teeth, and seahorses with an estimated value of R927 062.

Cleveland police spokesperson Captain Johan Jordaan said, “All the recovered items were handed in at the Cleveland Police Station and the case will also be investigated by Cleveland police.”
