Academic achievers awarded

Former teacher Mr Eugene Stolk, as the guest speaker while entertainment was provided by the Jeppe Pipe Band.

The formal academic prize-giving for the top achievers of 2016 at Jeppe High School for Boys was held in the Memorial Hall recently.

Ashirvaan Sookoo was the top achiever for grade 8, while Liam Stott was the grade 9 top achiever.

The top achiever for grade 10 was Jonathan Bosch, while Preston van Tonder took top honours for grade 11.

The grade 8 top achievers were Ashirvaan Sookoo (English, creative arts), Rynhardt Kuhn (Afrikaans), Mzwakhe Mashabe (isiZulu), Liam Thomas (life orientation, EMS, natural sciences), Brett Harson (mathematics), Cole Naamdhew (social sciences) and Aron Horn (technology).

Top achievers from grade 9 were Liam Stott (mathematics, social sciences), Mnqobi Magadla (English, EMS), Matthew Ellis (Afrikaans), Ushir Moonilal (life orientation, EMS), Yannick van Dorp (creative arts), Muhammed Akoojee (natural sciences) and Bradley Moore (technology).

The grade 10 top achievers were Jonathan Bosch (English, history, life sciences), Irfaan Seedat (Afrikaans), Dumisa Thubelihle (isiZulu), Cameron Smook (life orientation), Moeketsi Mashibini (accounting), Shaur Batohi (applied mathematics, mathematics), Andrew Millar (business studies), Ross Olive (CAT/civil technology, mathematical literacy), Abdullah Bemath (EGD, physical sciences), Pregan Govender (information technology), Justin van Aardt (geography) and Claudio Abelho (visual art).
