Klopperpark man arrested for dagga possession

He said police also searched the man's house.

Bedfordview SAPS arrested a 59-year-old man for cultivating and dealing in dagga.

The man was nabbed after police received information on the activities taking place in his home.

Spokesperson Captain André de Jager said the man is a Klopperpark resident.

“Upon the arrival of police together with the K9 Unit, a dagga tree was found in the man’s backyard. It was the biggest dagga tree some of our members had ever seen,” said Capt De Jager.

He said police also searched the man’s house.

“The officers also found processed dagga ready to be sold. It was already packaged and the bags weighed 37.25 and 19.25 grams,” said Capt De Jager.

He said the suspect was detained at Bedfordview SAPS.

“He faces a charge of cultivating and dealing in dagga and will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Capt De Jager.
