Hair Haven now open

"The salon makes the residents feel special. This donation will go a long way."

After undergoing renovations, the new and improved Hair Haven opened its doors to residents of Eden Haven on February 1.

The renovation, which was organised by Ms Carey Taylor and Mr Rob Meighburg, aimed to rejuvenate the hair salon at the retirement home.

Matron Fourie from Eden Haven said she was excited for the new salon to be opened.

“The salon makes the residents feel special. This donation will go a long way,” said Ms Jodi Sutton, the receptionist at Eden Haven.

On the day of the salon’s reopening, Matron Fouries said there was a lot of excitement among the residents.

Ms Taylor said the the project was done not only to bring smiles to the faces of the residents, but also as a tribute to her husband’s grandmother Ms Alice Hutchson.

“I just reached out to the community for assistance and people came forward,” said Ms Taylor.

One of the community members who came forward, Mr Rob Meighburg, said he decided to help and try do something nice for the community.

Mr Meighburg organised and supplied the labour, paint and smaller items for the project.
