Koketso Mankangoe, a second-year electrical engineering student told the Express that if the college fails to offer afternoon classes, they must reduce the fee from R950 to the normal price of R377. “We will not go back to our classes until our demands are met,” said Mankangoe.
A video showing a protester being manhandled by police has emerged.

It is alleged that the man, who is said to have been arrested by Alexandra police, works at the campus. “He told firefighters that students have the right to protest. One of the police officials ended up beating him and arrested him,” alleged Mankangoe.
Captain Allie Kodisang, Alex Police Station spokesperson, was unavailable for comment.
