Friends of Modderfontein Library to host first 2017 Coffee Morning

The Coffee Morning will be held at the Thornhill Estate community Centre at 9.30am.

The Friends of Modderfontein Library will kick off this year’s series of Coffee Mornings on February 24.

South African author Ms Sarah Key will give the keynote address.

Previously a high school teacher, Ms Key moved into adult education in which she holds a Masters degree.

She loved her time interacting with varied incredible youth who, emboldened, shared stories, many of which challenged notions and shattered taboos surrounding sensitive cultural issues.

Ms Key travelled across South Africa, leading a programme aimed at reducing the ravages of HIV and Aids.

She began writing fiction in 2011 with gritty – somewhat grisly – psychological thrillers. Some reviewers warn that they are graphic in content although they are not overtly violent or sexual in nature.

Ms Key is busy with her third book in the Sisters of Light series.

The Coffee Morning will be held at the Thornhill Estate community Centre at 9.30am.

The cost is R20 per person and all are welcome.

Refreshments will be served and the talk will begin at 10am with audience interaction and book signing to follow.

Ms Key will have copies of her book, Tangled Weeds on sale.
