Couple married for 65 years and going strong

In their younger years Vernon and Connie devoted much of their life to community service.

Inyoni Creek retirement village residents Mr Vernon and Mrs Connie Schultz recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

The couple, who met 68 years ago at Daggafontein Mine in Springs, celebrated their anniversary on January 12.

In their younger years Vernon and Connie devoted much of their life to community service.

The pair were long-time members of the Rotary Club of Bedfordview and in 2014 were given a lifetime membership to the Inyoni Creek Probus Club.

Once their two children had grown up, the couple enjoyed travelling to interesting destinations.

The couple’s decision to move to the Rand Aid-run Inyoni Creek in their golden years was a good one.

Mrs Schultz said the village extended their pair’s social life and interests.

The couple’s anniversary was celebrated at the Inyoni Creek Clubhouse in the company of family and friends.
