Norwood Police Station has welcomed a new station commander, Colonel AP Jojisa, who has been with then for three weeks now.

Krugersdorp-based Jojisa said, “I am very happy to be here at the Norwood Police Station. I hope to work well with the community of Norwood to fight crime. We must all work together to eradicate the problem of crime.

“The role of a station commander is to manage the police station and plan, organise, direct and supervise the performance of work under the jurisdiction of the police station. The commander must also ensure legal, efficient and prompt execution of tasks and orders.”

North Eastern Tribune asked Jojisa what she had noticed as being the biggest problem in Norwood thus far, to which she replied, “It would definitely be the property crime. I have noticed that there is a major problem with that and I urge the community to always be vigilant with the locking of their property and vehicles.”
