Top award for Eastleigh Scout

"I am not afraid of doing the work that is needed for me to achieve my goals."

A Scout from the Eastleigh Scout group, Aiden Mardon, achieved the highest Junior badge after obtaining several badges.

Aiden achieved the Leaping Wolf badge, the highest award in the Cub movement.

He obtained his Leaping Wolf award recently at the annual general meeting.

“I am not afraid of doing the work that is needed for me to achieve my goals. There were some things that I struggled with but I kept going even though it was hard,” said Aiden.

He is glad to have received the award because it will help him to continue to work hard towards getting all the other badges.

“I will continue to work hard because I want to get the Springbok badge, as it is the most important badge in Scouts history,” said Aiden.

He started Cubs about four years ago, after one of his friends told him how fun it was to be a Scout.

“I decided to join them and became invested after about four weeks. I love the fact that it is on Friday nights and it does not interfere with my school nights,” he said.

Aiden said his has received all the support he needs from his family, Scout friends and the leader of the Cubs. He wants to encourage other youngsters to join the Scouts.
