The Bedfordview SAPS has urged residents to save and keep their sector numbers in case of any emergencies.
Captain André de Jager said residents who live withing the Bedfordview policing precinct should know which sector they live in.
As the festive season draws closer, incidents of crime also rise.
Capt De Jager said in the case of an emergency, residents should be able to phone their direct sector number for assistance.
Residents who live in Senderwood, Bedford Park, St Andrews, Morninghill, Essexwold, Bedford Gardens, Oriel, the vicinity of the Bedford Centre and the Eastgate shopping centres fall under Sector 1.

Sector 2 covers everyone living and working in Bedford Central, RAG or Wilbart.
