SPCA appeals for festive season donations

This time of the year the association receives an enormous amount of unwanted, neglected and abused animals.

The Bedfordview and Germiston SPCA appeals to the community to assist with donations this festive season.

This time of the year the association receives an enormous amount of unwanted, neglected and abused animals.

Ms Shelley Bainbridge, a committee member for the Bedfordview and Germiston SPCA, said they are appealing for food for the cats and dogs.

“We would welcome monetary gifts. We have a shop on the premises which relies on the public for their unwanted household goods, clothing and books. So if like me you do a nice big clean out over the festive period, please remember the shop is open to take all donations,” said Ms Bainbridge.

She said they would also like collars, leashes and toys for the animals.

“This is a very trying time for the branch and the poor innocent animals that are forced to be there. Please open your hearts and donate whatever you are able to. Let us know if you require goods to be collected from you,” she said.
