Yeoville police arrested 22 suspects from 24 to 31 October. The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from business robbery and assault to rape.
The suspects were arrested for the following:
- 1 for a business robbery
- 9 for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 1 for common assault
- 5 for possession of drugs
- 3 for Shoplifting
- 1 for driving under the influence of alcohol
- 1 for attempted rape
- 1 for theft.
“The suspects have appeared in court. Some have paid fines while others are out on bail. Some suspects remain in prison while police investigations are continuing,” said Yeoville Police Station spokesperson, Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
