Conservation wall calendar goes on sale

The Modderfontein Conservation Society (MCS) launched its 2017 wall calendar at its November evening meeting recently.

The Modderfontein Conservation Society (MCS) launched its 2017 wall calendar at its November evening meeting recently.
The calendar is the same size and format as in the past, with a montage of full-colour illustrations featuring a tranquil river scene and a few of the smaller species found in the Modderfontein Reserve.
The background on each page consists of a ghosted photograph featuring an aspect of the society’s activities.
The photographs were taken by Ms Lucia Cowan, Ms Liza Smith and Mr Robbie Vermont. An additional feature this year is the inclusion of a 13th page, containing year-to-view calendars for 2017 and 2018.
“The panels for notes are user friendly and we expect to be sold out again,” said MCS chairperson Mrs Ellen van Dongen.
She undertook the production of the calendar this year.
“Due to the generous sponsorship of AEL Mining Services and the Greater Modderfontein Property Umbrella Association, we have been able to maintain the price of R25,” said Mrs van Dongen.
“These calendars are a real bargain and will make great Christmas gifts,” she said.
Despite struggling to operate a Post Office from a metal container in the midst of a construction site, Mr Tebogo Raolane has again offered to sell these calendars.
The Modderfontein Post Office is in Queen Street.
Alternatively, 011 608-2551 for more information.
The calendars are also available from the administration offices of Rand Aid’s Thornhill Manor and Elphin Lodge retirement villages.
