Suspect arrested after break-in at school

KENSINGTON –– Cleveland police arrest a suspect after catching him jumping over a school wall.

Cleveland police arrested a 31-year-old suspect for allegedly breaking into a school at Kensington on 12 November.

According to the spokesperson for Cleveland Police Station, Constable Mpho Mashakane, police officials were patrolling the area when they noticed the suspect jumping over the wall of the school premises.

“The suspect was searched and property belonging to the school’s science lab, valued at R5 000, was recovered. Upon further investigation, the police discovered that one of the windows had been forced open,” Mashakane said.

“The 31-year-old suspect was arrested and detained at Cleveland Police Station.”
