Birding and travel in the USA

When Mr Rolf Wiesler took a non-birding trip to the USA, little did he think that birds would sneak into his view finder and sometimes dominate the picture.

When Mr Rolf Wiesler took a non-birding trip to the USA, little did he think that birds would sneak into his view finder and sometimes dominate the picture.
Mr Wiesler is the featured speaker at the next evening meeting of the Modderfontein Conservation Society (MCS). He will share these and other American photographic highlights from Washington DC, New York City, Mt Desert Island, Main and Barnard and Vermont.
Mr Wiesler’s wife, Karin, introduced him to birding somewhat late in life, but when the bug bit, there was no holding back. He currently boasts a photographic lifer list of 818 birds.
“As it has become more difficult to add to this list, I have expanded my expertise and now photograph all aspects of biodiversity,” he said.
His photographs have been used in various publications, including three books authored by Ms Lee Gutteridge.
The meeting will take place in the Modderfontein Town Hall, 1 Casino Road, at 7:30pm on November 17.
Visitors are welcome to attend this meeting. For more information call Mr Robbie Vermont on 082 800 3704 or 011 608-2693 or visit the MCS web page: modderconserve.org.za.
