Art group to host exhibition

The exhibition, competition and demonstrations take place at the Edenvale Community Centre, on the corner of Van Riebeeck Avenue and 2nd Street.

The Edenvale Paint & Palette Group will host an art exhibition and competition of members’ artwork, instead of the club’s usual monthly demonstration.
The event will take place on November 19 at 2pm.
A competition will be held to find the top three paintings as voted for by participants.

The competition will run concurrently with the exhibition and a prize will be awarded to each of the three winners of the competition before the close of the exhibition.
“In addition, during the exhibition we will have three artists in attendance doing demonstration paintings,” said Mr Terry Baker, the chairman for the Paint & Palette Group.

The artists are well-known artist and art teacher, Mr Paul Botes, as well as two honorary members of the Paint & Palette Group, Ms Mary Papas and Ms Susan Frost.
Ms Frost is also a well-known art teacher from Edenvale.

Everyone is welcome to attend and there will be no charge. All paintings exhibited will be for sale.
The exhibition, competition and demonstrations take place at the Edenvale Community Centre, on the corner of Van Riebeeck Avenue and 2nd Street, Edenvale. There is no entrance fee, no booking is required and refreshments will be served.
