Youngster wins MX champ title

"Hayden took hard-fought victories at 6 of the 7 championship rounds."

Hayden Tully (12) was recently awarded the 2016 Motorsport South Africa (MSA) 65cc South African Motocross Champion title.

The grade 6 Dunvegan Primary School pupil took part in a seven-round series and participated in events across the country.

“Hayden took hard-fought victories at 6 of the 7 championship rounds,” said Mr Jonathan Tully, Hayden’s dad.

Mr Tully said his son was also selected as part of the South African Motocross team, which competed at the FIM Motocross of African Nations. This event took place in Nairobi during October.

“Hayden won all three of his heat races against some of the best riders on the continent, earning him the coveted MX65 FIM All African Champion title, ” said Mr Tully.

Mr Tully said when Hayden competes in the 2017 championships he will be competing for the 85cc Junior title.

“The 2017 championship kicks off in February,” said Mr Tully.
