Baby gennet is recovering well

His weight has gone up from 74 grams to 156 grams over the past three weeks

A juvenile Spotted Gennet, which was found in the Linksfield area about a month ago, is on the road to recovery and is doing quite well.

According to Ms Vanessa Davis, from the rehabilitation centre Wildlife In Crisis, where the animal is currently recovering, the young gennet’s health is improving.

“The Spotted Gennet is doing brilliantly. His weight has gone up from 74 grams to 156 grams over the past three weeks,” said Ms Davis.

She said since the animal was stabalised at the rehabilitation centre, there have been no further complications.

“We anticipate it will be plain sailing from here on out,” said Ms Davis.

“He still sleeps a lot, which is to be expected at this young age, but feeds brilliantly and is back on par with naturally developing babies of his age, ” said Ms Davis.
