Previously reported:

Last week the NEWS reported that family pet was shot during an attempted house robbery in Edenvale this afternoon.

“A security officer posted close to the house, heard two gunshots and ran to see what had happened,” said Capt Jean Olckers, spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS.

The officer found the injured pet and notified the SAPS.

“We believe the dog may have been shot twice,” said Capt Olckers.

K9 Law Enforcement retrieved the dog and took it to an Edenvale veterinarian where the pet’s condition was stabilised.

“We believe the pet dog deterred the suspects,” said Capt Olckers.
