Dedicated Edenvale cops acknowledged

"The two officers come into work while on their off days."

Two Edenvale SAPS officers were acknowledged for the good work they have done during the month of September.

The initiative, which was started by the Edenvale Community Police Forum (ECPF), aims to acknowledge officers who are dedicated and who go beyond the call of duty.

Mrs Linda Mckenzie, the chairperson of the ECPF, said the initiative began after the ECPF received emails thanking Edenvale officers for their work.

She said this month’s nominations were made by SAPS and ECPF executives, however in the future the community will be involved.

“Community members can send us a nomination as well as the reasons behind the nominations, and the officers’ names will be added to a list of nominees,” said Mrs Mckenzie.

Captain Jean Olckers, the spokesperson of the Edenvale SAPS, said the community and businesses of Edenvale thanked Sergeant Tsotsotso and Contstable Goldblatt for their good work and arrests made during the month of September.

“The two officers come into work while on their off days,” said Capt Olckers.

“It will be a monthly award and it will be a floating trophy,” said Mrs Mckenzie.

She added that both officers received vouchers from Greenstone Shopping Centre, Fahrenheit Seafood and Grill and Pick n Pay.

Mrs Mckenzie said some of the criteria looked at for the nominees included dedication and arrests made during the month.

If community members wish to nominate officers they can do so by sending their nominations and reasons to the ECPF at cpf.edenvale@gmail.com
