Over 1 000 runners take part in Bizos Mini Marathon

Advocate George Bizos called for people to support this marathon annually to make a difference in educating children from underprivileged families.

Saheti School hosted the fifth annual George Bizos Mini Marathon on September 25.

The marathon attracted 1 400 participants of all ages, which included Saheti families and members of the broader community, as well as 75 participants from Malvern Primary School.

Their participation was significant as Advocate George Bizos spent many of his childhood years in the Malvern area.

The participants competed in a 4.2km and 8.4km race.

Adv Bizos, a founder and Life Vice President of Saheti, was there to start the race.

Saheti School Head of Marketing, Mrs Anna Botha, said the funds raised at the marathon will go towards the George Bizos Saheti Scholarship and Bursary Fund.

“All proceeds from this event will go towards the the fund. The fund attracts and assists pupils of outstanding ability who are in financial need to access secondary education at Saheti School.”

Adv Bizos called for people to support this marathon annually to make a difference in educating children from underprivileged families.

“We are proud that our doors are open to everyone. It is through the generosity of different people that we have built Saheti,” said Adv Bizos.
