One caught for murder

Upon arrival the police found the suspect drinking beer

Cleveland SAPS arrested a suspect for murder and possession of unlicensed firearm at Denver informal settlement on September 16.

This comes after police officers received information that a man, who was wanted by police for murder, was drinking at a shebeen where the murder was committed.

“Upon arrival the police found the suspect drinking beer. The police asked to search him but he was not in possession of a firearm.

“He claimed that he left the firearm with his sister. SAPS officials went to the suspect’s sister and found the firearm where it was hidden away.

“The suspect was then arrested for murder and his sister was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm. Investigations are still underway,” said Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Captain Johan Jordaan .
