Greenstone receives award for store opening

Greenstone Shopping Centre has been awarded a bronze Footprint Award in the public relations category.

Greenstone Shopping Centre has been awarded a bronze Footprint Award in the public relations category.

This follows the successful opening of the first Hamleys store in South Africa in August 2015.

PR and communications manager for Greenstone, Ms Charmain Qofela, said the Footprint awards are regarded as the most prestigious awards in marketing by the South African Shopping Centre Council.

“Shopping centre marketing campaigns are judged by industry professionals who select winners based on creativity, innovation and success,” said Ms Qofela.

Media and customers alike queued patiently to witness the ribbon cutting to symbolise the opening of the Hamleys brand’s first store in South Africa. In-store characters, Hamley and Hattie bear, as well as popular movie and gaming characters led by the Ring Master, guided customers to experience a toy store like no other.

The store has kept the same excitement since the opening with the daily bell ringing to signal the opening, in-store product demonstrations, daily character meet and greets and if you ask nicely, a loud and proud birthday song to lucky little customers.

Ms Qofela thanked the customers who have shown their support to Hamleys as well as Greenstone Shopping Centre.
