A middle age woman was taken to hospital after she was assaulted by house robbers on September 21.
According to Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in the Avenues.
Capt Olckers said the resident was at home when she heard a suspicious noise coming from somewhere inside her house.
“When the woman investigated the sound she found three men in her house. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun,” said Capt Olckers.
Captain Olckers said the woman was then assaulted by the suspects.
“Several good were taken from the resident’s home,” said Capt Olckers.
Capt Olckers said no arrest have been made and a case of house robbery has been opened at the Edenvale SAPS
He urged community members to be alert and aware while at home.
He said that residents must report suspicious behaviour and if a crime does take place residents, someone needs to be alerted.
