Debate team makes school proud

The girls did themselves and the school proud.

The St Andrew’s School for Girls debaters participated in the Johannesburg Model United Nations Debate.

This is a prestigious and challenging event where the participants spent eight hours competing against 500 other delegates from schools across Gauteng.

The St Andrew’s team, formed by Tanushri Pillay, Boitumelo Phillips and Thandi Tshabalala, represented Uruguay as part of the United Nations Security Council, forming solutions to the current situation in Burundi. The team did an outstanding job demonstrating their negotiating skills, strategic alliance forming and debating prowess in a sometimes heated and highly competitive environment.
