Models get ready for local pageant

"The main aim of the competition was to raise funds for a different charity every year."

Models will once again take to the stage and compete in the Bedazzle Models of the Year competition.

The Miss Bedazzle 2016 competition will be held at Eastleigh Primary School on September 24.

Ms Nerita Bedasie-Sukdhoe, the Bedazzle Models founder, said she started the Miss Bedazzle pageant in 2013 to raise funds for charity.

“The main aim of the competition was to raise funds for a different charity every year,” she said.

Ms Bedasie-Sukdhoe said she started charity work when she won the Miss Africa 2008 pageant.

“After my rein ended, I continued to raise money for charities where possible. These charities are close to my heart and I enjoy helping others to make a difference,”she said.

In 2013, all proceeds from the Bedazzle competition were donated to Child Welfare Kempton Park.

In 2014, Care Centre Edenvale received the proceeds.

Ms Bedasie-Sukdhoe said this year’s proceeds will be donated to the Dare to Dream organisation.
