The City of Ekurhuleni has resolved the water pollution problem in Sebenza.
This after a resident reported that there was a sewage leak from one of the water pipes on Ingwe Road, Sebenza.
Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Mr Themba Gadebe said apart from the previous report about the paint pollution recently, no other reports were received.
“Ekurhuleni Metro’s Water Quality Unit has conducted inspection previously, found a sewer blockage and reported it to the depot. It was repaired and resolved,” said Mr Gadebe.
He said during the inspection by Water Quality Unit on Thursday, September 1, a sewer blockage further down the sewer line was identified and reported to the depot.
“The contractor was immediately instructed by the depot to attend to the sewer blockage. The contractor started working on the blockage on September 1 and estimated time of completion was 24 hours,” said Mr Gadebe.
