Karate student makes SA team

She represented South Africa in last year’s world championships in Randburg where she earned two medals.

Jeppe High School for Girls grade 9 pupil Nadia Calore, who represents her school in cross country, athletics, swimming and soccer was recently awarded her junior black belt in karate.

She was also confirmed as a member of the South African team that will attend the 18th Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association (FSKA) World Cup Championship in Mumbai India later this month.

She represented South Africa in last year’s world championships in Randburg where she earned two medals.

“Nadia will do even better this year as she has the spirit, dedication and determination to go all the way,” said her instructor, director shihan Mohan Hira.
