Traffic officers from the department of community safety arrested one man for possession of an unlicensed firearm at Cleveland off-ramp on August 23.
This comes after traffic officers came across two women who alleged that they were robbed by two men who were in possession of firearms at the bridge in Cleveland.
“The two women gave full descriptions of the men and the officers drove around looking for them.
“They were were spotted at Cleveland off-ramp and the M2 East. They tried to run away but the officers chased them and managed to apprehend one man,” said Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Constable Mpho Mashakane.
“The 27-year-old man was in possession of an unlicensed firearm. He was detained at Cleveland SAPS,” said Const Mashakane.
