Mrs SA finalist hopes to be an inspiration to women

"Through my journey as a Mrs South Africa finalist my transformation has been amazing, I have become more confident and enjoyed every moment of being completely unapologetically myself,"

Edenvale resident Mrs Melony Naidoo has been selected to be a finalist in the Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa 2016 pageant.

The businesswoman and mother said she hopes she will be able to build new relationships, meet new people and become more empowered through the pageant.

She said the pageant is an empowerment programme that allows women to be the better version of themselves and discover their true potential.

By taking part in the pageant, Mrs Naidoo said she wants to inspire married women.

“I really hope to be an inspiration to others and to leave a legacy for my daughter. I want to share my story and encourage women and girls to follow their dreams, hoping to better myself and make a difference in people’s lives,” said Mrs Naidoo.

The elderly and the youth are close to her heart.

“The youth are the future,” said Mrs Naidoo.

She told the NEWS the pageant is going green this year with MPact, and as a finalist she visits schools with MPact to encourage and educate them about recycling.

“I have visited two schools, Leicester Road Primary School and Troyeville Primary School,” said Mrs Naidoo.

“As a Mrs South Africa finalist am so excited to share with the youth the importance of going green and saving the environment,” she said.

She described the visits as fun and educational.

Although she has competed in other pageants she said the Mrs South Africa Pageant was her first big pageant.

“I competed in pageants growing up but I am proud to still be able to do it as a married woman and mother,” said Mrs Naidoo.

Mrs Naidoo, who thought she would never be selected as a finalist, said it is an absolute blessing to have been selected.

“Through my journey as a Mrs South Africa finalist my transformation has been amazing. I have become more confident and enjoyed every moment of being completely unapologetically myself,” said Mrs Naidoo.
