New Ekurhuleni executive mayor Councillor Mzwandile Masina announced his mayoral committee members on August 31.
He announced his committee while delivering his acceptance at a special council meeting held at at the Germiston City Council.
Clr Masina said various issues were considered when the team was put together, among which were capability, gender and age.
“This team has been put together to optimise service delivery. We will continuously assess our performance so that the necessary interventions can be made timeously. After all, every healthy organisation must reflect on its performance on a regular basis to determine if the machinery remains relevant to the course,” said Clr Masina.
“After extensive consultation within the ruling party, we have resolved that these are councillors who will be equal to the task of accelerating services,” he said.
The mayoral committee members are:
Finance and Economic Development – Clr Doctor Xhakaza
Infrastructure Services – Clr Robert Mashego
Transport Planning – Clr Petrus Mabunda
Water, Sanitation and Energy – Clr Tiisetso Nketle
City Planning – Clr Masele Madihlaba
Community Services – Clr Dorah Mlambo
Human Settlements – Clr Lesiba Mpya
Environment and Waste Management Services – Clr Ndosi Shongwe
Corporate and Shared Services – Clr Khosi Mabaso
Community Safety – Clr Vivian Chauke.
