“From the time we received our first order, we set up everything in the short space of three weeks,"

Mr Lucas van Wyk and Mr Eben Rootman from Advance Fenestration (Pty) Ltd, an Edenvale-based company, were announced as one of the 15 businesses selected as finalists in the 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year competition.

The Edenvale business designs, manufactures and installs traditional aluminium fenestration (windows and doors), to the more energy-efficient performance aluminium products to suit residential and commercial applications.

“We would like to congratulate and commend all entrants, as these are the individuals who bring about positive change and fuel job growth, helping the South African economy and communities to grow,” said Gugu Mjadu, spokesperson for the 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year competition.

Mjadu said there were 213 entries this year.

The 2016 finalists stand the chance to win prizes worth R2 million, which includes cash prizes to the value of R425 000.

“Beyond monetary prices, previous finalists have benefited greatly from the various networking opportunities and associated media exposure that the competition offers,” said Mjadu.

The winners of the competition will be announced in September.
