AB de Villiers tells his story

"I actually played a few games of cricket here and I've always had a soft spot for Jeppe,” said AB.

The hardback edition of ‘AB The Autobiography’ was launched at Jeppe High School for Boys on September 1.

The autobiography has both English and Afrikaans versions.

“The book covers key events and influences that have shaped my life and my career. From my childhood and schooling at Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Affies) through to my present successes, experiences and controversies as captain of the One Day International (ODI) team,” said Abraham Benjamin “AB” de Villiers.

“I chose Jeppe High School for Boys for the first address of the launching of my autobiography because it is one of the schools that I competed against when I was still in school.

“I actually played a few games of cricket here and I’ve always had a soft spot for Jeppe,” said AB.

“Don’t ever stop dreaming. I was just a young boy not so long ago,” he said.

Jeppe High School for Boys pupil Barley Hoedmaker said it was an amazing day for him because AB de Villiers chose to launch his book at their school.

“It was an opportunity of a life-time, ” he said.

Copies of ‘AB: The Autobiography’ were also on sale at the school.
