A case of murder is currently under investigation by the Edenvale SAPS following a shooting which took place in the Avenues last night.
Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS confirmed that the victim was Mrs Vanessa Dreyer, a mother of two.
“The wife and husband were in the car when they were blocked in the driveway by a white Mercedes-Benz. More than two suspects were involved,” said Capt Olckers.
He said the armed suspects attempted to rob the couple.
“It is alleged that a shootout took place between the husband and the suspects,” said Capt Olckers.
He said the wife was fatally wounded.
“The wife died as a result of her injuries,” said Olckers.
