Edenvale resident 13-year-old Chiara Ebersey is in the top 15 contestants of the Miss Teen Social Entrepreneur South Africa (SESA) pageant.

According to Chiara Miss Teen SESA is about teaching girls to become entrepreneurs and how to give back.

“Miss Teen SESA is a different type of pageant, it is beauty with a purpose,” said Chiara.

As a contestant, Chiara’s mission and campaign is to raise as much funds as possible to support Dignity Dreams, the official beneficiary of the pageant.

The charity has designed a dignity pack to assist underprivileged girls and the pageant aims to distribute as many dignity packs as possible to underprivileged girls countrywide.

The dignity packs include:

Chiara said as part of the pageant she will try sell as many of these packs as possible to assist girls who do not have access to sanitary towels and miss school during their menstrual cycles.

“We may not be able to change the world but changing one life already makes a difference,” said Chiara.

Chiara said the money transferred will be put to use towards the packs which will be distributed by the Dignity Dreams charity.
