Residents invited to open day

It is free of charge and refreshments will be served.

Suicide Survivors will host an open day in Bedfordview come September 10.

The organisation, which provides awareness and training in suicide prevention, is based in Ekurhuleni.

On the day, the organisation’s founder Ms Lorraine Mitchell will share her personal journey and passion for suicide prevention.

She will also talk about the related training she offers.

Having herself battled depression and suicidal thoughts, Ms Mitchell’s work places an emphasis on getting people to talk about suicide and depression, and also learning how to identify the warning signs in someone who is suicidal.

The open day will be held at Bedfordview Remedial, Learning and Therapy Centre along Talisman Road and will run from 10am to 12-noon.

It is free of charge and refreshments will be served.

RSVP to Ms Mitchell at suicide.survivors@outlook.com by August 25.
