Edenvale Rotary Club partners with local school

Edenvale Rotary Club has previously assisted pupils from Dowerglen High School to develop leadership skills

On August 17 Daisy Kahwenga from the Dowerglen High School Interact Club was inducted as the club’s first president.

This was made possible with the assistance of the Edenvale Rotary Club.

According to the secretary of the Edenvale Rotary Club, Ms Linda Clarke, Interact is a club for young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who want to tackle the issues in their community that they care most about.

Edenvale Rotary Club has previously assisted pupils from Dowerglen High School to develop leadership skills by inviting them to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), a four-day camp in Magoebeskloof.

This programme seeks to provide young adults with an opportunity to develop their skills and character while exposing them to Rotary’s values of service, high ethical standards and peace.

“Edenvale Rotary Club looks forward to partnering with the Interactors in making a difference in our community,” said Ms Clarke.
