EMPD arrests drug suspect

Lt Col Kgasago said the suspect was put under surveillance by members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit after the unit received information about the suspect's activities.

On August 11 a suspect was arrested by the EMPD for selling drugs on Voortrekker Road in Edenvale.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, the suspect was found in possession of the drug cat with a street value of R8 000.

Lt Col Kgasago said the suspect was put under surveillance by members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit after the unit received information about the suspect’s activities.

“After an opportunity presented itself the suspect was arrested by EMPD officers at 12.25pm.

“The suspect was detained at the Edenvale Police Station and charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances,” said Lt Col Kgasago.
