A good night’s sleep to smile about

21 new beds complete with mattresses, pillows and linen were donated to the shelter at a cost of about R55 0000.

The men from the Edenvale Round Table celebrated Women’s Day on August 9.

Round Tablers packed their cars with brand-new beds for the Bienvenu Shelter for refugee woman and children.

Twenty-one new beds complete with mattresses, pillows and linen were donated to the shelter at a cost of about R55 000.

Once the men arrived at the shelter it did not take long for them to get to work replacing the old beds with new ones.

Instead of putting up bunk beds, the men found triple beds, which in turn gave the shelter more space for additional women who need help.

The shelter was filled with sad stories but it was a joyous occasion when, on Women’s Days, they were treated with respect and dignity.

Some of the women at the shelter were sharing a single bed with two children.
