Grade 11 Edenglen High School pupil Rourke Hooper recently took part in the Youngsters on the Air (YOTA) programme held in Wagrain, Austria.
The event that was held from July 16 to 23 and saw 114 participants from various countries taking part.
At the event, participants took part in amateur radio as well as various workshops that were offered during the programme.
During the programme, an intercultural evening was held allowing teams to taste food and drinks brought by other teams from their home countries.
While representing South Africa, Rourke gained further knowledge on various concepts associated with radios and formed bonds with some of the other team members.
