AACL to outreach day

The day will focus on primary healthcare in the form of vaccinations, de-worming and treating pets against external parasites.

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League’s (AACL) Outreach Programme has provided primary healthcare to over 1 300 pets in disadvantaged areas over the past 12 months.

This valuable service can only continue with the assistance and support of the public.

On Sunday, August 28, the AACL, with the assistance of Cause 4 Paws, will host its next outreach day.

This will take place at the Hofland Park Community Centre situated at the intersection of 5th Avenue and 3rd Street in Bezuidenhout Valley.

The event will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

The day will focus on primary healthcare in the form of vaccinations, de-worming and treating pets against external parasites.

All dogs and cats which belong to residents, who cannot afford the services of private veterinarians, are welcome at the event.

Dogs must be kept on leads and cats must be kept in baskets or closed boxes.

The AACL will also aim to assist as many residents as possible with pet sterilisations, once pets have received their initial vaccinations.

On the day, AACL volunteers would appreciate donations of blankets, collars and leads for the animals and monetary donations that will help to offset the costs.
