The power of skin needling

We hear that lines on men make them look distinguished and on women, they just make them look old.

We hear that lines on men make them look distinguished and on women, they just make them look old.

Wrinkles are known by many names, such as crow’s feet, laugh lines, character lines, troughs, ruts, valleys, gullies, old-age lines, creases and furrows. So many, yet they still make us look tired and old.

Ageing is genetic. Twenty years ago we could usually tell where a person lived by the sun damage they had.

Now with skin needling, also known as neocollagenesis, we can look like a million bucks and still avoid plastic surgery. In the United States of America, Ms Susan Church first introduced skin needling when she worked on burn victims as well as other patients with severe scars.

Ms Church noticed that not only did these procedures leave the scars relaxed, far less visible and the skin more flexible, but the procedure also plumped up the skin which is the body’s natural response to an inflammatory tissue injury.

This leaves the skin youthful and alleviates the need for potential surgeries in the way of facelifts or in the case of scar relaxation, reconstructive surgery and skin grafts.

Skin needling treats fine to deep wrinkles. It is accomplished when the technician utilises a certain technique while they insert the needle into the top layer of the epidermis. Scar relaxation is different and treats light scarring when the technician works in the dermal layer of tissue for lasting results. Skin needling promotes the natural reproduction of collagen and elastin which make the skin feel smoother and tighter.

Who benefits from skin needling and scar relaxation?

In view of the fact that skin needling is a nominally invasive procedure, anyone with fine, medium or heavy wrinkling will experience positive results.

Skin needling procedures have minimal downtime and swelling. The scratch marks will be barely visible three days later and completely gone after a week, leaving your skin plumped up and youthful.
