Police officers from the Jeppe SAPS arrested two suspects for breaking into the Throne of Grace church in Doornfontein on July 22.
The incident took place at about 8pm.
“The pastor saw two unknown men inside the church. They were stealing tea cups.
“He called for help and with the assistance of his fellow church members, the two men were caught and tied up. They were in possession of a basket full of tea cups belonging to the church,” said the Jeppe SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Richard Munyai.
“The pastor later called the police who took the two suspects to the Jeppe SAPS and detained them.” he added.
The suspects, aged 34 and 26, will appear in court soon.
